Stress is a common problem with most people. With all the problems of life such as work, personal problems, health issues and other responsibilities it is easy to get overwhelmed. Below is a list of natural ways to reduce stress and help you live calmer life.

1- Prioritize

As humans, we tend to take on more than we can handle. It is important to prioritize your life so you do not get overwhelmed. Life can require a lot from you but you do not have to run yourself ragged trying to complete everything at once.

Make a list of all the things that are required of you and number them according to importance. Then determine how much time to a lot to each task. Are there things on your list that you could eliminate? Are you spreading yourself too thin? Carefully review the items on your list and eliminate anything that is not necessary or beneficial.

2- Delegate

Once you have written your list of tasks, review it to see if there is anything you can delegate to someone else. Are there some tasks you could ask for help with?  For example, could you ask a family member to help you fold laundry? Could you ask for help on an assignment at work?  Delegating tasks is a great way to prevent being overwhelmed.

3- Use Essential Oils

Using essential oils can help you feel less stressed and have been utilized to help naturally induce a calmer atmosphere. Suggested practices for natural stress relief is to diffuse or topically apply essential oils such as lavender, rose or jasmine.

4- Breathing Exercises

5- Spend Time with Loved Ones

A great way to reduce stress is to surround yourself with people you can enjoy life with.Spend time with people who encourage you, listen to you and make you laugh can help you heal when you feel like you’re at wit’s end. Call a friend, send a text or email.There is no shame in reaching out if you need a good friend’s company!

DIY Natural Sleep Salve

DIY Natural Sleep Salve

 

Ingredients

  • 8 oz  Shea Butter
  • 12 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons Beeswax
  • 1 Empty Heat Resistant Container (Such as a Mason Jar)
  • 1 Sauce Pan (Or double boiler)

Instructions

  1. Fill the sauce pan halfway full with water and bring to boil or use double boiler.
  2. Place heat resistant container onto stove top and add beeswax and shea butter.
  3. Allow mixture to come to a boil and melt completely.
  4. Once completely melted remove from heat.
  5. Carefully stir until mixture has cooled.
  6. Add lavender essential oil.
  7. Stir until all ingredients are blended.
  8. Pour mixture into heat resistant container.
  9. Allow to cool before use.
  10. Label and store away from kids or pets.

To Use

Apply to chest, neck and wrists an hour before bedtime to naturally induce calm and sleep.

Sleep is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, but sometimes it can be hard to fall asleep and get the recommended eight hours of rest.  Below is a list of great tips to help you get better sleep.

Set a Sleep Schedule-

Our bodies get used to routines and setting a sleep schedule will help stimulate our body’s natural circadian rhythm to function properly. Setting a set bed time where you lay down at the same time every night will help you create healthy sleep patterns.

Avoid Electronics an Hour before Bed-

How many nights do we stay up way too late because we were scrolling through social media on our phones? A helpful tip to get more rest is to plug your phone up on the other side of the room before bed and leave it there until morning. This will limit the temptation to spend unnecessary time on social media and promote relaxation.

Dim the Lights in the Evening-

Our bodies naturally respond to light stimulation, so by dimming the lights a few hours before bed you send a signal to your brain that sleep is coming. Lavender Shea Butter Soap Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup Shea Butter
  • Optional- 1 teaspoon Purple Mica Powder
  • 20 Drops Lavender essential oil
  • 6oz glycerin soap base

Directions

  1. Place the glycerin soap in microwave and melt for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Repeat if necessary until mixture is completely melted
  2. Slowly add shea butter and stir until melted. If needed, microwave for 30 additional seconds to melt mixture completely.
  3. Add 20 drops of lavender essential oil and mica powder. Stir until smooth.
  4. Pour the soap mixture into the silicone molds and set aside to cool for 24 hours.
  5. After 24 hours, remove soap from the mold and store in an airtight container to prevent them from drying out.
